Kay Ellen Saffell, 64, of Stuttgart passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Baptist Health-Stuttgart.
Kay was born March 2, 1956, in Newport, Ark., to Charles Eugene and Doris Ellen Rodgers Keller. After obtaining her GED, she received her nursing degree from Ricebelt Vocational School in DeWitt. Kay was a nurse for over 25 years retiring from Baptist Health-Stuttgart as a labor and delivery nurse and loved her job. Kay enjoyed spending time with her family, loving on her grandchildren and keeping everyone in line. Kay always looked forward to her phone calls with her brother Rodger – they could talk for hours. She was also very close to her sister Jane. She will be forever missed.
She is now in heaven with her parents; her beloved grandsons, Brandon Saffell and Joseph Self; and her granddog Monkey.
Survivors are her husband of 48 years, Ira Saffell; sons, Brian Saffell of Stuttgart and Jeffery Allen Saffell of Clarendon; daughters, Starla Schultz, Brenda Lawrence and Renita Saffell of Stuttgart and Lisa Mealler of Clarendon; her brother and best friend, Rodger Keller of Oppelo, Ark.; sisters, Jane Barnett of Havana and Kim Moore of Conway; 14 grandchildren, Bert Ward, Kimberly Ward, Sana Newby, Mallory Lawrence, Jacob Lawrence, Kaelyn Saffell, Stephanie Southern, Randall Saffell, Jessica Saffell, Presley Isabell, Davis Isabell, Hayden Holleman, Londen Schultz and Madison Schultz; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Turpin Funeral Home. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, there will be limited seating and those attending must wear facial coverings.

To IRA and family, Kay will be missed. She was a blessing to know, a nurse who was loving and caring, a friend who I was blessed to know and be a part of her life. My deepest sympathy goes out to each of you. God bless each of you and comfort you in the days and months to follow.. much love to all of you. Praying for you and your family.
