A man was arrested today in connection to a hit and run that happened in Stuttgart over the weekend leaving a pedestrian dead at the scene.
Confirmed by Prosecuting Attorney Tim Blair, Authur Patterson has not been formally charged but is being held on manslaughter and leaving the scene of an incident injury, both of which are felonies according to Blair.

According to the Arkansas State Police, on Saturday, June 27 on US HWY 79 and North Leslie, evidence at the scene showed a pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.
ASP identified the victim as Nelson Sims, but family and friends knew him as Michael who was near and dear to many in the Stuttgart community.
“This was tragic,” said Kawonna Reed as she spoke about her uncle.
Michael was always seen walking everywhere in the Stuttgart community and now that he has tragically lost his life, the family just wants to give him a proper burial and home going service.
“Michael didn’t have life insurance and his brothers can not afford the funeral by themselves,” said Reed.
A GoFundMe account has been set up for the family to help aid the family with funeral costs. Donations may also be sent directly to Releford Funeral Home who the family has chosen to render services for their loved one.
“We just want to send him off the right way,” said Reed.
