Billy Joe Persons Sr., 84, of Stuttgart passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, at Baptist Health-Stuttgart.

          Mr. Persons was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Star City to William Ellis and Bessie Lee Persons. He was a carpenter/builder and member of First Assembly of God Church.

          Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rona Jean Persons, four brothers and three sisters.

          Survivors are three sons, Rodney Persons, Billy Joe “Joey” Persons Jr. and Greg Persons; brothers, Donald Persons (Brenda) and Gerald Persons; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

          Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Jason McKelvey, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church with burial following in Williams Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart.

          Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Turpin Funeral Home.

          The family requests memorials be made to First Assembly of God Church, % Pat Hayes, 46 Walton Lane, Stuttgart, Ark. 72160.
