The Grand Prairie Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution held a guest day luncheon and meeting Saturday, October 26th, at the Arts Center of the Grand Prairie in Stuttgart.
The program, “Bringing My Father Home”, was presented by Mike Brady. Mr. Brady was only a few months old when his father’s plane was shot down over Nazi Germany during WW II, and the body was never recovered.
In 2016, after almost 75 years, the military contacted Mr. Brady with the news that his father’s remains had been identified through DNA testing and would be coming home for burial at Arlington National Cemetery.
During the meeting, the chapter inducted two new members: Vicki Shepherd of Brinkley and Janna Dobrovich of Clarendon.

After the meeting, several members wrapped the shoeboxes filled with items for veterans as part of the Christmas Shoeboxes for Veterans project sponsored by Daughters of the American Revolution-Little Rock Centennial Chapter and Publishing Concepts in partnership with Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) Voluntary Services.
