
The Grand Prairie Quilt Society met November 13, 2019, at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall with 11 members present and 2 guests.
Glenda opened the meeting with the thought for the day, “In my dream world fabric is free, and quilting will make you thin.”
Happy Birthday greetings were extended to Maeola.
The October minutes and treasurer’s reports were given.
Plans for the Christmas Party were finalized. A potluck dinner will be held on December 11 at the church.

Ann had several table toppers to show the group. She also donated one as a special prize for the Christmas party. Sherrye showed her finished Police Uniform quilt. Glenda showed a do-it-yourself quilt design pattern.
Eunice brought a sack of fabric treasures. Everyone dived right in and all you could see were arms and elbows. “Wow, this is just like Xmas,” one was heard to say.
New Business:
A motion was made and 2nd to give CWF a $50.00 donation to buy beans for the ICCM Food Bank.
Jeannie T. joined as a new member.
The members then adjourned to get to work on their projects. Betty hand-quilted on her Bridal Wreath quilt that had been started by her mother; Eunice sewed together her Churn Dash quilt top; Marsha X’ed some squares for a graduation quilt; Shelley put together some half-square triangles for a Cake Mix Recipe quilt top; Glenda finished a baby quilt for the Hope Resource Center; Maeola sewed sashing on her Medical Professions quilt blocks; Toni, Ann, Lou Anna and Sherrye visited and browsed for new ideas; Winnie worked on some bowl cozies.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by Glenda who brought potato soup and Shelley who made the cornbread.
