
James Calvin Clark, 71, of DeWitt, Arkansas passed away on May 28, 2020 at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on June 24, 1948 to Robert and Zellar Clark, both parents preceded him in death along with his brothers Robert L. Clark, Lonnie R. Clark, Sr, Varnell Clark and Wesley L. Clark.
James attended school at Immanuel School in Almyra, Arkansas. After which, he enlisted in the United States Army from 1970 to 1974. During that time of enlistment, he was awarded several medals-National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Silver Service Star, two Bronze Service Stars and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was also an accomplished Rifle and Grenade Launcher Marksman and served overseas in Germany where he studied Basic Leadership Courses.
James accepted Christ at an early age and on his Christian journey he was a Chief Usher of First Baptist Church in DeWitt, Arkansas.
To cherish his memory, he leaves: 3 beautiful daughters, Leasa(Darrell) Smith of DeWitt, AR; Trina Jackson of Little Rock, AR and Shante’ Clark of Kansas City, MO; 3 sisters, Anna(Earl) Hicks of Stuttgart, AR; Linda Faye Joyner of Louisville, KY; and Clara Gaither of Little Rock, AR. 5 grandchildren, Tiara Wright, Tyler Wright, Adriane Martin, Mahlon Martin III and Isaiah Clark; 3 great grandchildren, Chrishon Robinson, Myles Wright and Daylee Fox; 2 aunts, Inez Jenkins of Ripley, TN, and Earnestine Gaither of Dewitt, AR with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
On Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 205 S. Adams St. DeWitt, AR there will be a walk-thru visitation for the public @10a.m. to 11a.m. after which a family only private funeral service will commence @11a.m. Professional and care for family entrusted to: Paradise-Integrity Funeral Home, 206 W.
