
Lee Della Johnson Berry was born April 2, 1929 to Richard and Jennie Johnson in DeWitt, Arkansas. She departed this life, with the blessing of being 91 years of age, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart, Arkansas on May 27, 2020.
Lee Della accepted Christ at an early age. She became a member of Holy Benton Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Benton, where Superintendent Lawrence O’Neal is now pastor. She attended Emmanuel School in Crocketts Bluff, Arkansas.
Lee Della was united in holy matrimony to Ellis Berry, Sr. and to this union seven children were born. Lee Della was a loving mother, housewife, grandmother, auntie, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Jennie Johnson; three sisters Jenell Caldwell, Mary Nichols, and Velma Randall; four brothers Wilbert Johnson, Perlis Johnson, LB Johnson, and John Johnson; one son Louis Verdell Berry; and one granddaughter Kalandra Berry Warren.
Lee Della leaves to cherish her loving memories four sons Ellis Berry, Jr. (Pat) of Pine Bluff, AR, Sherman (Earlene) Berry, Cedell (Linda) Berry, and Charles Berry, all of Stuttgart, AR; three daughters Emma (Wayne Scales) Berry and Paula (Elmer Hogan) Berry, both of Stuttgart, AR and Benita Tarpley of Akron, OH; two sisters Mary Trimble and Blanche Jeffery, both of Stuttgart, AR; one brother Robert Louis Johnson of Stuttgart, AR; 21 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild Kylie Berry; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation held Friday, June 5, 2020 from 5pm-6pm at Relerford Funeral Home, Stuttgart. Graveside Service held Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 11am at St. Olive Cemetery, DeWitt, AR.
