
Luther Releford was born June 26, 1942 in Gillette, Arkansas to the late Trie Releford and Mary London. He transitioned this life on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
He accepted Christ as his savior and united with First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend C.E. Hawkins, where he remained a faithful member until his death.
Luther attended Holman High School. He loved all sports, but he was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was employed over forty years at Bogard. Luther later retired from Stuttgart Seed. In addition, he was a co-owner of A & L Social Club in Stuttgart.
From the holy union of Luther and Remi Releford was born six children. In 1989 wedding bells ranged again. He married Glory (Flournoy) King, and they shared many years of marital bliss until the Lord called her home in 1994.
He is preceded in death by his parents Trie Releford and Mary London; his beloved wife Glory Releford; four daughters Pamela McGregor, Karron Releford, Penny Releford, and Briggett Releford; one brother Jim Releford; and one sister Mattie Wright.
Luther leaves to cherish his memories five sons Timothy (Yolanda) Releford of Grady, AR, Frederick Releford of Oakland, CA, Luther Butler of Flint, MI, Bobby Ray (Dhyan) Releford of Omaha, NE, and David King, Jr. of Stuttgart, AR; one daughter Vernadine Releford of Kansas City, MO; nephew Elmer Wright of Chicago, IL; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a special cousin Rose Anner Roberson of Humphrey, AR; a special friend Marvell Williams and longtime friends Arthur Neasley of Stuttgart, AR and Jack Earl of Detroit, MI; John L. Scales of Chula-Vista, CA and Godson Xavier Hobbs, who he helped raise; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Memorial Service held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11am at Relerford Funeral Home, Stuttgart.
