Marion was born on May 6, 1923 to the late Thomas Calvin and Alma Rogers Terrell. Marion, affectionately called GG by her friends and family, dedicated her life to God, family and friends. She attended Harding University and obtained an emergency teaching license during World War II. She then taught First Grade for two years at Alcorn Gill School. She married the love of her life, Clyde McCullars in 1948. They remained married for 61 years until his death in 2009. She later worked for the United States Postal Service for 32 years where she was the Postmaster in the Humphrey Post Office when she retired in 1985. She also loved being a farmer’s wife and helping keep up with crop prices and other farm work. Most of all, GG dedicated herself to God and the church. She was a lifelong member of the congregation meeting at the Argo Chapel Church of Christ. She taught children’s Sunday school there for many years. There was no place she would rather be than at church worshipping God and singing with her church family.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 27, at 11 a.m. in the Turpin Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Randy Frazier and Bro. Bruce Dabbs will officiate the service. The viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Flynn Cemetery.
