After an extensive career in the Stuttgart School District, Meekins Middle School principal, Sharon Konecny, will be ending her tenure at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
According to Stuttgart School District Superintendent, Dr. Rick Gales, 18 highly qualified applicants applied for the position. “Out of 18 applicants, we interviewed 7,” said Gales. “We have narrowed those 7 down to 3 and will come back in two weeks with the final 2.”
Gales states a 2-step selection process includes being interviewed by himself, the principals, and the Board of Directors.
“I was surprised we had so many applicants apply,” said Gales. “The Board will make the final decision.”
When asked if the selection process for a principal for Stuttgart High School had begun, Gales stated until Principal Boothe officially turns in his resignation, no advertisement will be made for that position.
