According to the Arkansas State Police, on Saturday, June 27 on US HWY 79 and North Leslie, evidence at the scene shows a pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene.
The victim, identified as Nelson Sims, 56-years-old, was near and dear to many in the Stuttgart community.
A call was received at 8:25 a.m. in regard to a body lying next to HWY 79 near N. Leslie Street.
According to deputy corner William Barnett, Sims was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The time of the incident is unknown as authorities are currently investigating.
ASP fatality reports state the weather condition was rainy and the road conditions were wet.
