
Richard Odell Johnson was born May 20, 1971 to the late Bishop Eddie L. Johnson and Eleanor Johnson. He departed this life on June 23, 2021 in Dayton, Ohio.
He received Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend D. L. O’Neal at First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart, Arkansas. After retirement, he joined Freedom Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Dayton, Ohio under the leadership of Reverend Frederick Hayes.
Richard was a graduate of Stuttgart High School, Class of 1989. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served for 23 years. His highest achievement being the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He also obtained two Associate Degrees in Contract Management and Criminal Justice from the Community College of the Air Force, as well as a Bachelors of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University of San Diego, California. His life’s passion was being a friend to others and took pride in caring for United States veterans. Richard was the life of the party and left an impression on everyone he encountered.
He was preceded in death by his father Bishop Eddie L. Johnson, maternal grandparents Reverend E.J.& Georgia Richardson, paternal grandparents Odell and Matilda Cooper, and Elnora Johnson.
Richard leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted companion Angela Vaughn of Dayton, OH; one daughter: Sontreka Johnson of Bryant, AR; mother: Eleanor Johnson of Stuttgart, AR; one brother: Apostle Victor (Anita) Johnson of Stuttgart, AR; one stepson: Vincent (Hayley) Evans of Dayton, OH; one grandson: Kobe Williams; two granddaughters: Charlotte and Harper Evans; one nephew: Micah (Sharne) Johnson of Duncanville, TX; four nieces: Jacquala Johnson of Little Rock, AR, Tayler Johnson of Duncanville, TX, Bria Johnson of Dallas, TX, and Bailey Johnson of Maumelle, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends who were all very dear to him.
Visitation held Friday, July 2, 2021 from 5pm-7pm at Relerford Funeral Home, Stuttgart. Service held Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 10am at Victors’ Empowerment Center, 802 N. College Street, Stuttgart.
