Robert Frye III was born on January 12, 1941 to the late Robert Frye II and Estella Anderson in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He departed this life on September 24, 2020 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Affectionately known as ‘Baby Dump’, he attended Holman School in Stuttgart, Arkansas where he played football.
He was married to the late Mattie Lee Toney Frye and to this union three children were born.
Robert worked at Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, Arkansas for over twenty years. Later he relocated to New Haven, Connecticut. Robert retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services.
In his spare time, Robert enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and playing pool.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Frye II and Estella Anderson, wife Mattie Frye, stepson Tommie Sanders, and sisters Gladys Noel and Laura McNeal.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories one daughter Brenda Frye of Clarendon, AR; two sons Tinno Frye and Rickie Frye, both of Stuttgart, AR; four stepsons John Sanders and Frank Toney, both of Stuttgart, AR, Thomas Humphrey of Little Rock, AR, and Don Smith of Nashville, TN; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; brothers Charles Frye and Bennie Frye, both of Stuttgart, AR; sisters Margaret Sanders of Aurora, CO, Lorene Frye of San Francisco, CA, Janice (Larry) Gilreath, Carolyn (George) Williams, and Brenda Anderson, all of Little Rock, AR, and Debra (Donald Ray) Perryman of Kansas City, KS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation held Friday, October 2, 2020 from 5pm-6pm at Relerford Funeral Home, Stuttgart. Graveside Service held Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1pm at Lone Tree Cemetery, Stuttgart. (Note: face masks are required at both the Visitation and Service)
