Ruth Atkins Clemons, 93, of Drasco, formerly of Stuttgart, passed away peacefully at Southridge Village Assisted Living Center in Heber Springs on Tuesday, November. 17, 2020. Ruth was born in Humphrey on March 11, 1927, to her parents Charlie and Mary Atkins.

          Ruth had various jobs throughout the years, but her most cherished and favorite was being a homemaker and caring for her family. Ruth loved church, her family, visiting with her friends and others (she never knew a stranger) and caring for her numerous plants and flowers. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Stuttgart. While living in Drasco, she attended Drasco General Baptist Church   as often as she was able.

          She is survived by her son, Kelvin (Charla Michele) Clemons of Stuttgart; grandchildren, Brandon (Karissa) Clemons of Heber Springs, Carrie (Kevin) Murphy of Marion, Casey (Spencer) Buchanan of Benton, Wade (Sandy) Clemons of Stuttgart, Valorie (Roger) Rankin of Stuttgart, Josh Knight and Robert Knight of Oklahoma City, Kelvin Dale Clemons Jr. and Bryan Clemons of Mountain Home and Kyle Clemons of Honolulu, Hawaii; daughter-in-law, Deanna Clemons of Drasco; sister, Dorothy (Wilbur) Glover of Dallas, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends are left to cherish her memory.

          Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Clemons; sons, Gary Clemons and Dellos Clemons; brothers, Emmitt Atkins and Jessie Atkins; and sisters, Louise Lane, Lucille Davis and Irma Atkins.

          Graveside services, officiated by Bro. Billy Henderson, are 2 p.m. Friday, November 20, at Lone Tree Cemetery chapel with burial to follow. In compliance with Arkansas Department of Health guidelines for attendance, masks must be worn at all times.

          In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials of Ruth Clemons be made to First Baptist Church, 2115 S. Prairie, Stuttgart, AR 72160; Museum of the Arkansas Grand Prairie, 921 E. Fourth St., Stuttgart, AR 72160; Drasco General Baptist Church, 6800 Heber Springs Rd., N. Drasco, AR 72530; or donor’s choice.
