
The Stuttgart Fire Department responded to a house fire at the 400 block of E. 3rd Street on Thursday evening.
Firefighters spent over three hours battling the blaze that had the two-story residential, three apartment structure engulfed in flames.
Approximately 60% of the structure, mostly to the rear and the second floor, was on fire.
Hand lines and areal devices were used to fight the fire as flames burnt through the roof.
After three hours, crews were able to get the fire under control and make entry into the building.
There were no other signs of fire.
According to SFD, a crew member was hurt during his efforts to keep the blaze contained.
The property owner was on the scene and stated the home was vacant and used for storage.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
